Howdy! My name is Mason Turner, and I’m an artist from Colorado!
I am a current junior at Pepperdine University with a Bachelor of Arts major in Sustainability and a Bachelor of Arts major in Art. Growing up in a rural Colorado mountain town has given me a strong love for environmental care and protection. In addition, I have always had a love for art and developed skills as a self-taught artist. Through my art, I strive to capture the beauty of nature beyond what meets the eye while promote awareness surrounding environmental and social causes. My current project, “Second Life” is an instillation focused on using recycled objects like surfboards to create paintings that highlight endangered, misrepresented or threatened organisms in order to place them in the public eye.
When I am not creating art, I spend my time outdoors or upholding my positions on the Executive Board for four different organizations including Pi Beta Phi, Surfrider Foundation, Food Recovery Network and Climbing Club. I enjoy being an active member within my community and giving back where and when I can.
